I got a recipe book that I ordered from America today and all the recipes say things like '1 cup' without actually giving any specific measurement. Am I to believe that all Americans use one kind of cup?
What would one cup be in litres, millilitres, grams or what ever?American cook book recipes?
A cup is a standard measurement.
1 gallon = 4 quarts
1 quart = 2 pints
1 pint = 2 cups
1 cup = 8 fluid ounces
etc
1 cup = 236.588 milliliterAmerican cook book recipes?
You can buy american measuring cups in the uk now. have a look in john lewis, local kitchen shop or on amazon.
1 cup is 8 ounces. those are 8 fluid ounces (volume not weight) and are equiv to 236 ml
